Free As In Beer Or Free As In Beer?

When explaining a concept of Free Software to someone who doesn't understand the meaning of Free, one usually uses the phrase: "Think of free as in free speech, not free beer." Although I guess it's a good explanation technique, the successful concept of Free Software has been spread into plenty of other fields, including beer. When I attended the Swiss Pirate Party General Assembly, I was given a present: Piratenbier.
